NOTE HERE ON WI-FI SPEAKERS:
Some brands allow a wireless stereo pairing of wifi speakers, which is what we’ll focus on in this guide. It is our preferred method of connection as it is truer to the idea of “wireless speakers”. This setup guide won’t cover connecting two seperate Wi-Fi speakers via a wired stereo connection, and it won’t cover connecting passive stereo speakers via an amplifier/receiver.
Step 1: Connect your turntable to your preamp or receiver
The first step in setting up your Rega turntable with Wi-Fi speakers is connecting your turntable to a preamp or directly to a turntable with built-in preamp (like the Rega P1 Plus). This is typically done using RCA (red and white) cables, depending on the type of turntable you are using (Rega turntables use RCA). You’ll need to connect the red and white cables and any ground wires to the appropriate inputs on your preamp.
If you have a built in preamp, use RCA cables with the appropriate connection to fit directly into your Wi-Fi speakers. Then simply connect the other end of the cable into one of the Wi-Fi speakers jump to Step 3.

You’ll be able to play your records collection through your Wi-Fi speakers via a ‘line-in’ option or by setting up the speaker to automatically detect when a signal is coming in from the turntable. On select voice control speakers you can even control the volume and other settings with your voice through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Things to note.
It’s important to note that, although the setup process for a Rega turntable with Wi-Fi speakers can take a bit more effort, once it is set up correctly, it will provide an excellent listening experience. You should also consider investing in a good quality RCA cable, as well as a good quality digital optical cable (if applicable). This will ensure that your turntable is connected to your Wi-Fi speakers correctly and will provide the best audio quality possible.
Additionally, before buying a Wi-Fi speakers make sure that they are able to be wirelessly stereo paired and that they are compatible with your turntable brand. Some speaker brands, like Devialet and Sonos, offer their own hardware that can be connected to a turntable and then wirelessly transmitted to your speaker setup, without the need for any cables at all!
