The LG G6 and C6: The Preferred TV System for Bang & Olufsen

There was a time when upgrading your Bang & Olufsen TV meant replacing everything — screen, speakers, cabinet, the lot. But B&O’s approach has shifted. Today, the acoustic system stays. The screen moves with the times. The LG G6 and C6 are the latest expression of that — 2026 OLED technology that slots directly into existing Beovision and Beosound systems, keeping them current without starting from scratch.

The new LG G6 and C6 are the preferred TV system for Bang & Olufsen’s Beovision Harmony, Beovision Theatre, Beovision Eclipse, Beovision Contour, and Beosound Premiere — and if you’re running any of these systems, here’s why an upgrade is worth considering.

What’s New in the G6 and C6

Both screens carry the new Alpha 11 Gen 3 processor, a genuine step up from previous generations. It runs a new Light Boosting Algorithm that works alongside each panel’s Light Control Architecture to push practical OLED brightness significantly further than before — without the colour washout that used to accompany brighter OLED panels.

The G6 goes further with second-generation 4-layer RGB Tandem WOLED technology, branded as Hyper Radiant Colour Technology. The result is a meaningful jump in peak brightness — up to 3.9x higher than LG’s entry-level OLED — along with a new polarising layer and screen structure that cuts reflections to below 0.5%. That’s independently certified as Reflection Free Premium, which matters in real living rooms with windows and ambient light. Deep blacks are preserved through all of it.

The C6 benefits from the same Alpha 11 Gen 3 processor and introduces Brightness Booster Pro (on the 77″ and 83″) or Brightness Booster (on smaller sizes), delivering up to 3.2x peak brightness over the B6. Combined with Perfect Black, True Colour certified to 100% Colour Volume in DCI-P3, and Dolby Vision support, the C6 is a substantial upgrade over the C5 — and the practical choice in markets where the G series isn’t available.

Both models support up to 165Hz variable refresh rate with NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos decoding, FILMMAKER MODE with Ambient Light Compensation, and webOS with Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot integration. Security updates are guaranteed through December 2030.

Importantly, LG has not changed the mechanical dimensions of either model. That means existing Screen Mount Interface solutions for Bang & Olufsen systems carry over directly — no new mounting hardware required.

Compatible with the Full Beovision and Beosound Lineup

Bang & Olufsen’s integration with LG is updated each year to support the latest panels, and 2026 is no different. The G6 and C6 are fully compatible with B&O’s compatible control software from launch.

Here’s how the compatibility breaks down:

  • Beovision Harmony — compatible with both G6 and C6
  • Beovision Theatre — compatible with both G6 and C6
  • Beovision Eclipse (3rd gen) — compatible with the G6
  • Beovision Contour 48″ — compatible with the C6
  • Beovision Contour 55″ (2nd gen) — compatible with the C6
  • Beosound Premiere — the LG G6 and C6 are the preferred TV system

A Note for First-Generation Eclipse Owners

If you’re running a first-generation Beovision Eclipse, you won’t find native compatibility with the C6 — but that doesn’t mean you’re stuck.

We can supply specialist upgrade adapters that allow the original Eclipse to work with current LG OLED panels. These brackets are precision-engineered for the purpose and make a real difference to what’s possible with an otherwise excellent speaker and cabinet system. If you’re sitting on a Gen 1 Eclipse and wondering whether it’s worth upgrading the screen, get in touch — it’s a much more cost-effective path than a full system replacement.

Why Sound Completes the Picture

The visual step-up from the G6 or C6 is real. But picture quality tells only half the story.

The way we watch has changed — streaming services now deliver Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos as standard, and content is mastered to take advantage of both. A screen that can render all that information accurately is one thing. Speakers that can do justice to the soundtrack are another thing entirely.

LG’s TV speakers will get the job done. But they won’t fill a room, they won’t give you that physical sense of sound, and they won’t do justice to a Dolby Atmos mix the way a dedicated system will. The Beosound Premiere, which pairs directly with the G6 and C6 as the preferred TV system, is designed specifically for this. It brings B&O’s acoustic engineering and room correction capabilities to a screen that’s already doing everything right visually. Together, they’re not a TV and a soundbar — they’re a considered home cinema system.

The same applies to Beovision Harmony and Theatre installations. The integration isn’t an afterthought; the B&O compatible control software means the system behaves as a single unit, with the screen and audio working in sync.

If you’re upgrading your screen to a G6 or C6, it’s worth thinking seriously about the sound at the same time. The gap between a great picture with average audio and a great picture with great audio is, frankly, enormous.
