SONOS AMP MULTI
The multizone amplifier
Built for professional installation, Amp Multi provides unmatched multizone flexibility with GaN and PFFB technology to completely redefine what an 8-channel amplifier can do.

PRECISION-BUILT FOR PROFESSIONALS
Backed by thousands of hours of research and engineering, Amp Multi was built from the ground up to streamline professional installation at every stage. It’s designed to support your workflows and help you deliver bespoke audio experiences with precision and efficiency.
MULTIZONE FLEXIBILITY
Each output can be assigned to any zone, giving you complete flexibility in system design. Users can easily change audio sources and content, ensuring a seamless, consistent experience.

INNOVATION FROM THE INSIDE AND OUT
Advanced GaN technology, Class D amplification, and post-filter feedback (PFFB) deliver exceptional audio quality with high efficiency. Its textured, thermally-optimised chassis enhances performance and durability all within a compact design built for the rack.
PROTUNE – MANUALLY TUNE EACH OUTPUT
With ProTune, you can optimise the sound for the placement and room acoustics of any low-impedance passive speakers. This feature offers a comprehensive set of manual controls, including a 10-band parametric EQ and adjustable gain and delay offsets.

INTUITIVE CONFIGURATION
An audible chirp identifies each unit in the Sonos app—no PIN required. Front and rear LEDs indicate setup mode for a more seamless experience.
INTELLIGENT INDICATORS
Speaker outputs automatically detect when a speaker is connected, while status LEDs provide real-time feedback during setup. Ambient light sensing adjusts brightness to the environment, and all indicators are configurable in the app.

POWER MORE SPEAKERS
Select the feature Optimise Sonos Speakers in the Sonos app to unlock the ability to power up to three Sonos Architectural speakers per output (24 total). The custom DSP optimises the EQ, while limiter control enables even and consistent volume dynamics throughout the frequency range.
FLEXIBLE CONNECTIVITY
Connect via wired Ethernet or WiFi 6 and stream up to four audio sources simultaneously using the Sonos app, Apple AirPlay 2, or Spotify Connect. Analogue and USB inputs provide additional flexibility, and the subwoofer output is freely assignable to any zone.

EASY APP CONTROL
Control everything from the Sonos app—zones, sources, output assignments, and status monitoring—all in one place.
READY TO RACK
Designed specifically for Amp Multi, the 2U Rack Mount streamlines installations by reducing wasted space, maximising airflow, and keeping cable management clean.

Built to breathe
The Rack Mount creates space above and below each unit to support airflow in a clean, 2U configuration.

Streamlined installation
With its flat back design, Amp Multi slides easily onto the Rack Mount. Installation is satisfyingly simple.

Space-saving design
Amp Multi eliminates the need for vent panels between rack units and reduces the number of screws required for installation—saving time, rack space, and hardware.

LOOKS RIGHT AT HOME
Whether on a shelf, credenza, or mounted to the wall, Amp Multi’s compact design and refined finish make it an elegant addition to any space. It looks just as polished in plain sight as it does tucked into a rack.
WORKS WITH YOUR DEVICES
Partner integrations offer seamless control of your Sonos system alongside all your compatible smart home devices.

RESPONSIBLE BY DESIGN
From major technological innovations to thoughtful details, Amp Multi is engineered with sustainability at every level. Amp Multi features 47% recycled plastic—helping reduce waste and give materials a second life. GaN technology helps Amp Multi consume less than 5.5W at idle to reduce heat and improve reliability.

What is the warranty length for Amp Multi?
Amp Multi comes with a 3-year warranty, giving you peace of mind and reliable coverage.
Is the 125 W per channel rating peak power or continuous?
Amp Multi delivers 125 watts of continuous (RMS) average power per channel into an 8-ohm load, with all channels driven.
What is the damping factor of Amp Multi?
The damping factor is approximately 437 when paired with an 8-ohm speaker.
What if I’m in a noisy environment and my device can’t hear the setup chirp?
If the chirp is not detected, you can enter the PIN printed on the back of the unit directly in the Sonos app.
How much clearance does Amp Multi need for airflow if it’s not rack-mounted?
We recommend allowing at least four inches (10 centimetres) of space on the top and sides for proper ventilation.
Does Amp Multi support Trueplay?
No, Amp Multi introduces ProTune—a manual tuning feature that lets you fine-tune the sound for any low-impedance passive speaker and room. When used with Sonos Architectural speakers, enabling Optimise Sonos Speakers applies custom tuning and DSP tailored to their unique acoustic design.
Why is Amp Multi 1.5U in height, and how does that fit in a rack?
Amp Multi shares the same 1.5U height as Sonos Amp, ensuring consistency when mixing device types. The Rack Mount (sold separately) adds an extra 0.25U of space above and below the unit—for a total height of 2U—for optimal airflow and easier access without wasting rack space.
How do I assign the subwoofer output to a specific zone?
In the Sonos app, go to Zone Settings, select Connect Sub, and follow the instructions to assign the subwoofer output to the desired zone.
How many subwoofers can Amp Multi support?
Amp Multi supports Sonos Sub 4, Sub (Gen 3), and Sub Mini. You can assign one Sonos Sub per zone, up to four total. The subwoofer output port supports a powered third-party sub, which can be freely assigned to any zone in the app.
Why doesn’t Amp Multi include HDMI like Sonos Amp?
Amp Multi is purpose-built for bespoke, distributed audio applications. If you need HDMI connectivity for TV or home theatre setups, Sonos Amp or a Sonos soundbar is the best fit, with both offering the ability to work seamlessly alongside Amp Multi in the same system.
Is Bluetooth® supported?
No, Amp Multi does not include Bluetooth connectivity.
